I can see it in the taskmanager, I've tried rebooting. No luck. I'm writing this in IE. This sucks.</p> <p><strong>Update:</strong> The good news is that the FireFox safe mode did start up and I was able to uninstall GreaseMonkey. Now Firefox works normally again. I'm trying to file a bug report but the Mozdev Bugzilla server is <em>s...l...o...w...</em>.</p> http://matt.blogs.it/entries/00002501.html Getting the monkey on my back Thu, 19 May 2005 10:40:44 +0100 <p>I've been seeing more and more stuff about <a href="http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/">GreaseMonkey</a> the FireFox extension which lets you add user scripts to existing web pages. It enables all kinds of content modification and so can be used for good or evil but, unlike other such technologies, it's far more in the control of the user.</p> <p>I had some problems <a href="http://matt.blogs.it/2005/04/15.html#a1770">last time</a> I tried to install GreaseMoney but I came across Mark Pilgrims <a href="http://diveintogreasemonkey.org/">Dive into GreaseMonkey</a> site and thought it was time to have another go. Happily there was no trouble this time.</p> <p>I'm too busy to begin trying to write scripts but I might peruse the list of <a href="http://dunck.us/collab/GreaseMonkeyUserScripts">useful scripts</a> although I'll be careful about messing with GMail as they have a tendency to <a href="http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=greasemonkey+gmail+account+locked&btnG=Google+Search">lock your account</a>.</p> <p>Two scripts I would like to see are:<ol><li>A BlogLines monklet to export the current post into my blogging tool as a new post (which happens to be Radio Userland right now).</li><li>A Radio Userland monklet to replace the editor with a <strong>working</strong> WYSIWYG editor for FireFox.</li></ol></p> http://matt.blogs.it/entries/00002622.html
