I see MT's TrackBack has the ability to generate some RSS output, but it doesn't actually look like RSS (as in, I don't think you could just subscribe your aggregator to it). Here's what I have in mind.  I want to know whenever someone pings any of my pages.  I register with the TrackBack server a pattern like <A href="http://radio.weblogs.com/0107808/">http://radio.weblogs.com/0107808/</A>* Whenever someone pings a page under that URL it gets added to a dynamic RSS feed with a URL generated for me.  I can subscribe to that feed in Radio and see all the trackback pings appear as news items. If I'm interested in who is writing about things Dave is saying I might add a pattern <A href="http://www.scripting.com/">http://www.scripting.com/</A>* and get his TrackBack results as well. Well done Paul. http://matt.blogs.it/entries/00001441.html Call for help: Cross domain scripting Fri, 06 Jun 2003 16:19:34 +0100 We've run into a problem implementing the <A href="http://www.movabletype.org/">MovableType</A> client for <A href="http://wwww.evectors.it/">k-collector</A>: Our approach has been to bootstrap development by reusing a lot of the Radio client code (moved onto the k-collector server) and having the MT client call that as far as possible.  We made some good progress this way however we've hit a snag.  When the server side code needs to send information back to MovableType we hit the 'ol Javascript <A href="http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/same-origin.html">same origin policy</A> problem. Sat, 14 Jun 2003 12:35:08 +0100 I'd like an easy way to ping a trackbackable item when I post in Radio.  It seems to me that the easiest way to achieve this would be to have the trackback id embedded in the RSS item (much like the GUID is).  This would allow me to pre-load the URL to ping when posting a commentary on an item. Has someone already come up with an extension for doing this? Update My thanks to <A href="http://philringnalda.com/">Phil Ringnalda</A> who sent me the link to the <A href="http://madskills.com/public/xml/rss/module/trackback/">trackback module</A> for RSS which provides a way to associate the trackback ping url with an item in a feed.  Exactly what I was looking for!  However when I checked my copy of MovableType I notice that the module is not used by either the 1.0 or 2.0 templates (at least as of 2.63). What gives? http://matt.blogs.it/entries/00001486.html K-Collector client for MT update Mon, 03 Nov 2003 10:12:37 +0000 Over the weekend I finished the basic K-Collector client for MovableType.  It's still a little rough around the edges, unoptimized and what have you, but it seems to work here.   In the first instance we're looking for a handful of MT users who are technically savvy (happy installing perl modules, CGI & don't mind mucking about with their templates and such) to do the testing, then we'll open it out when we are sure we have any problems locked down. Thanks. ---- Update:  Thanks to <a href="http://markpasc.org/">Mark Paschal</a> and John Howard for jumping in with the goods almost before the bits had settled on the page. http://matt.blogs.it/entries/00001774.html More MovableType tricksyness Fri, 28 Nov 2003 16:07:44 +0000 Okay so I am trying to customise a MovableType template and have hit a snag.  I can include my customisations to the edit_entry.tmpl using the <TMPL_INCLUDE> directive and this works okay.  However I need to put a dynamic url into the included HTML, the Url coming from a configuration file supplied with our tool.  And this is where I am having problems. There doesn't seem to be a way of doing this from the template language that I can find (please tell me if i'm wrong) so my next idea was to write a simple MT plug-in to return the Url for me.  That way I could include the plugin to my template and all would be well. Except it looks like MT doesn't interpolate custom plugins when processing the editing template.  I just see the tag (I tested with the <MTServerUptime> example) embedded in the output, not the content it should represent.
